As we approach mid-2024, I find myself thinking about the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a particular focus on Large Language Learning Models (LLMs). Despite the wave of enthusiasm surrounding this technology, I question whether we will see significant developments in this area in the coming months.
LLM models have shown tremendous potential, yet their implementation and training require deep expertise to achieve optimal results. In addition, the considerable investments made by OpenAI and other LLM model developers raise questions about the economic sustainability of these investments in the long term.
Meanwhile, I observe a growing interest in LLM-based B2B solutions in the AI ecosystem. This suggests to me that companies will seek to capitalize on the investments they have made so far, focusing their efforts on developing products and services that can be deployed immediately and offer a tangible return on investment.
This does not imply that innovation in LLM models will stop. However, there may be a shift in focus toward the practical application of AI, rather than the continued search for ever larger and more complex models.
It will be fascinating to observe how the LLM landscape evolves in the coming months.
